2.一般说来，在only, still, quite, not等词之后通常用带有不定冠词的a few,而在very, some, the, no, so, too等词之后通常用不带冠词的few。如：

Only a few students passed the exam.只有几个学生考及格。

Very few people understand what he said.几乎没什么人懂他的话。

【注】可说very few或a very few,但不能说very a few。

3.其比较级和最高级分别为fewer, fewest。如；

4.用作形容词，其后可直接跟名词，无需用of,但是若其后名词之前有限定词修饰或者是代词或从句等，则必须要用介词of。如：

A few ofthese books are mine.这些书当中有几本是我的。

5.a man [person] of few words (沉默寡言的人)是习词，其中的few前不用冠词或其它限定词。
